Flannel Friday 2.0 was a big success at YES today! There were lots of participants in this event to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Center.
The Glow Run was a huge success today! Our fifth graders had an opportunity to visit HMS and participate in this PTO sponsored event this morning.
The Silly String battles continue today, as part of our 5th-grade fundraising efforts! We are excited to join HMS for the Glow Run tomorrow!
The YES World of Change fundraiser is in full swing today! These students are making a difference in the areas of housing, education, and food insecurity for others in Maine.
Last week, we celebrated our young musicians with a terrific 4th and 5th grade band, orff ensemble, and chorus concert. We'd like to thank Mrs. Troy and Mrs. Witherell-Stebbins for their dedication and hard work!

Fourth graders got to learn some sea shanty songs, listen to music, and learn about life on the sea many years ago!
Our 2nd and 5th grade buddies had an amazing visit today! We are so grateful for our teachers for planning and preparing for this special opportunity.
In STEAM classes, YES fourth graders explored birds in their habitat, learned about migration, discussed threats to birds and possible solutions. One solution to bird collisions was to draw on our windows to break-up the reflection for birds.
The Forecaster and the Maine Audubon visited today because they are writing an article about our conservation efforts to save the birds! We'd like to thank Mrs. Colfer for organizing this amazing opportunity for YES students. We are sure that the local birds send their gratitude as well!
Thank you to Erik Street, Director of Public Works, for spending time with our second graders today! They learned about the work this department does to maintain our town. Students also got to check out the equipment that they use!
Last week, some of our 5th graders visited Bay Square, an assisted living facility in Yarmouth. We are so grateful for this amazing community connection and learning opportunity!

YFD has declared the school safe. Classes are back in session at Yarmouth High School.
A sensor in one of the science labs has caused evacuation of Yarmouth High School. All students and staff are waiting safely outside while YFD investigates.
There were happy customers today at the YES Book Fair! This week long event ends on Friday, October 21st.
