Yearbooks have arrived! We'd like to congratulate Elise Dibble, who won our 2025 Yearbook Cover Contest. Lysie's artwork was incredible, and we are so excited to have it featured in our yearbook. YES students will receive yearbooks next week!


YES has a new crosswalk! Thank you to the Grade 4 Girl Scout Troop who worked so hard on this project.


It was a perfect afternoon for our all-school ACES (All Children Exercise Simultaneously) Day! Thank you, Ms. Pachuta and Mrs. Ney!



Our 4th graders finished up our spring concert season with a fantastic performance! Great job tonight!



It’s Concert Week at YES, and what a way to kick it off! The 5th-grade Band, Chorus, and Orff Ensemble launched the celebrations with an unforgettable performance that filled the gymnasium with music, energy, and pride. Before a packed audience of families, students, and staff, our talented fifth graders showcased their hard work and musical growth.




The Children's Museum of Maine visited YES today and presented to our second graders. Students are participating in the Magnificent Marshmallow Experiment as part of our matter unit. They are learning all about air pressure!



Kevin Hawkes visited our grade 3 students today! We are so grateful to Mrs. Moreno for bringing this exciting learning opportunity to YES. Kevin Hawkes is a celebrated illustrator and author renowned for his contributions to children's literature. With a portfolio exceeding 50 picture and chapter books, his work is distinguished by vibrant colors, imaginative perspectives, and a distinctive sense of humor. Notable titles featuring his illustrations include Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen, Weslandia by Paul Fleischman, Sidewalk Circus, The Librarian Who Measured the Earth, and The Wicked Big Toddlah.


Today, we celebrated another successful World of Change fundraiser at YES! Students loaded up the WOC truck this morning to make a difference for several worthy local causes that connect to our core values of caring and citizenship.




It is a great turnout for our second STEAM Family Night!




Mrs. Troy and the YES Chorus performed the National Anthem for a full house at the Maine Mariners game this afternoon! Fantastic job!


Congratulations to Ms. Pride and our 5th Grade Drama Club for an amazing production of Annie: The Musical on Friday!


YES held our first Fans in the Stands basketball game last week! This exciting sporting event is part of our effort to become a Unified Champion School. We'd like to thank all of the educators for putting together this wonderful experience for students. The home team (students!) beat the away team (staff) by over 30 points! Go YES Unified PE!
