Parent/School Alliance presenting an evening to explore safe use of technology
The Yarmouth Parent/School Alliance is an opportunity for parents and schools to communicate with each other, learn together and support one another. At our first meeting in October, the group identified safe student technology use as a topic that we would like to explore further.
This Thursday we will feature a presentation from Jonathan R. Werner. Jonathan is the President of the International Society for Technology in Education Librarians Network and a co-organizer of #1to1techat (Weds at 9 PM EST). He presents frequently and is a regular contributor to #tlchat and #edchatme. His most recent presentations to schools and communities have focused on discussing the growing #TruthAboutTech and #TimeWellSpent movements to fight the rising tide of addictive technology. Jonathan is a Library & Instructional Technology Specialist at the Library and Learning Commons at Cape Elizabeth Middle School.
This event will be held on:
Thursday, January 31, 2018
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Yarmouth Performing Arts Center
Yarmouth High School
This evening will be a time for our community to learn about current technology practices and the impact of addictive technology on wellness. Please RSVP for the first meeting by filling out this form.
We hope you will be able to join us on January 31 and at subsequent meetings and events sponsored through this alliance.
