Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to thank our freshman team and advisors for coordinating the recent 9th grade interdisciplinary field trip to Fort Williams, which represents one of the unique aspects of learning at Yarmouth High School.   As one of our faculty members noted, “The morning represented such impressive learning and cross-curricular exposure for our students.  It truly does represent a team effort! Thanks to Blair Currier, Nikki Davoren, and their team of parent volunteers, who provided such a wonderful lunch!” Please check out webpage  Live Feed link herefor a few pictures of our students’ study of literature, math, history, and science on the rocks.  We’d ask that you also take note of the other upcoming events in October:

The Yarmouth Community Garden Dinner- Wednesday, October 17th at YHS. Please see this link for more information regarding the menu and fundraisers which include a silent auction, raffle, and kids’ crafts.

Oct 18 District Wellness Night- A reminder about the student wellness initiative that Dr. Dolloff shared with parents on September 12. The Yarmouth Parent/School Alliance, Navigating the Path to Student Wellness, is an opportunity for our parents and schools to communicate with each other, learn together, and support one another. The first gathering of this alliance will be held on October 18, 2018, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Yarmouth High School Cafe.  The first meeting will be a time for parents to share perspectives in a safe and welcoming environment, and to engage in a dialogue about student wellness. Together, we will identify the current challenges that we face as their caretakers at home and as their educators in school. Following this first session, our meetings will focus on proactive supports that will help us all improve student wellness in Yarmouth.  Please RSVP for the first meeting by filling out this form.  We hope you will be able to join us on October 18 and at subsequent meetings and events sponsored through this alliance.

The Yarmouth Education Foundation’s 8th Annual Blue Jean Ballis just around the corner! The Blue Jean Ball is going “back to blue jeans” this year and we’ll be dancing to the music of one of our favorite local bands, The Loose Threads!
