Dear YHS Families,

Our hope is that the December vacation has provided you with time to enjoy the holidays, be with family, and get some rest after the challenges of 2020.  It should come as no surprise that no matter what the difficulty, the faculty at Yarmouth High School continue to find ways to celebrate our students.  In the world of music, teachers Mr. Dustin and Mr. Hendricks recently created the following compilations in lieu of our traditional December concerts:

YHS Instrumental Winter Concert

YHS Winter 2020 Choral Concert

The celebration of the arts is not limited to music at YHS, as we would also like to recognize the efforts of our theater director Ms. Puelle.  We are excited to announce that the YHS Playmakers will present Les Misérables this spring in a video format that will adhere to all Covid CDC requirements.  The show, undoubtedly, will go on.

Now that 2020 has finally come to an end, we are also preparing to finish the first semester of classes in the next few weeks, and we would like to share the following updates.

Last day of the first semester - Friday, January 22.

To help students finish the semester on a successful note, YHS will be using a modified schedule from January 19 to January 22, link here.  Please note the following changes:

--There will be no “remote” day this week, as we will hold classes in the mornings on all four days of school.

--Transportation will be provided on all four days, as well as a special bus run at 12:30 after the end of morning classes.

--WRVC & PATHS students may attend their morning on-site vocational programming.  Depending on the plan for a given YHS class, teachers may also request WRVC/PATHS students to attend a make-up session in the afternoon.

Should you have additional questions, we have put together a Parent FAQ sheet, link here.  Your student’s advisory will be reviewing this information as well.

PSAT Tests for 10th Grade Students - Tuesday, January 26

We will provide PSAT testing for our sophomore students on Tuesday, January 26th. The cost of the PSAT is $25. Cash or check accepted with checks written to Yarmouth High School. Please submit payment to the Guidance office by January 19.  In order to maintain social distancing expectations, there will be no onsite classes for students in grades 9, 11, and 12.  These students will be attending their classes remotely while the 10th grade students take the PSAT exam.  Of note, Wednesday, January 27th will still be a remote day.

Be well,

Eric Klein, Amy Bongard, and David Creech - YHS Administrative Team
