May Newsletter Dear Parents,
Guardians, and Friends, Our beautiful weather
brings my all time favorite spring sounds of children on the playground. Freed
of their coats, boots and mittens, students jump rope, climb, run, swing,
practice for the baseball season, play chase and tag, and challenge themselves
in Four Square and kickball. The volume of their voices rises with the
increased activity and excitement, and they’re “roasting”. It becomes more
difficult to stay inside for all of us. Just a quick reminder
that flip-flops and crocs are not safe footwear for the playground. Also,
encourage your children to drink water during the day to stay hydrated.Due to budget restrictions,

Parents, Guardians and Friends, We
celebrated April’s arrival with Beach Day in our cafeteria. As the Beach Boys
sang in the background, the students arrived at the “beach” wearing sunglasses,
flip-flops, shorts, and hats. They sat on towels and blankets, or right on the
“sand” to eat their lunches and helped themselves to the salad bar served from
a canoe. Swimming was not allowed at this beach. Thank you to all of you who
were able to join us and who helped the students prepare at home for this fun
day. A special thank you goes to the School Nutrition Staff who puts in a great
deal of effort for this day ...

Guardians and Friends, As I write this
letter to you, snowflakes fall past my window leaving me uninspired and waiting
eagerly for signs of spring. I look forward to the time when the children are freed
of their coats, boots and mittens and feel less encumbered in their outdoor
